I used to have a horrible habit of not using gift certificates within the year. More than a couple of times, I have shamefully thrown out lovely gifts and hoped that the giver never followed up and asked me how the massage/facial/movie was. I'm also the type of person who can sit and hold a wrapped present for a really long time, and somehow, I think this ties in to my love of holding onto gift certificates. There's something amazing about knowing that a piece of paper sitting in the popcorn bowl on top of our fridge will open the door to some fantastic place that will remove pains in my neck or blackheads from my forehead. Why rush and use it? Part of the gift is knowing that I CAN use it! Anyhow, PB and Gigi hooked me up with a facial last year and lucky me, there was no expiry date, because it would've ended up in the recycling bin and I would've definitely been caught and I would've missed out on the best facial ever. I'm not claiming to be a facial expert, but I've had a few and have never loved them enough to bother being regular about them, but I'm thinking that's about to change. The spa is called Relaxe Beauté (located at 802 Gilford). The "Gestes essentiels" facial lasted over 90 minutes, and included an amazing massage of my face, shoulders, upper arms. The products smelled amazing and Sylvana was so good at explaining what she was doing along the way, but quiet when there was nothing she needed to say and I was snoozing. There was a "prescription" written up with her advice on what products I should buy, but it was done in such a way that I didn't feel annoyed and I even went and bought some cleanser because I really SHOULD be taking better care of my skin! Here's the link to their website: http://www.relaxebeaute.ca/ It isn't the fanciest site, and it needs to be updated, but don't hold that against them. They've been concentrating on perfecting the facial and that's exactly what they should be doing...
